Full disclosure, saying 'nobody' knows how to play Michigan's most popular drinking game may not be one hundred percent accurate. However, the five people I asked here at the radio station have never heard of it.

As a matter of fact, I have never heard of this game either, until now. If you know me, then you know I enjoy having fun (and lots of it), so how is this game so popular if I have never even played it?

Raise your hand if you have ever heard of a drinking game called Paranoia. Does anyone else hear the sound of crickets? Paranoia sounds like a game for people on drugs, not drinks. Nonetheless, according to The Loupe - Michiganders love Paranoia.

The Loupe reportedly used Google Trends search to analyze the most popular drinking game in every state between November 2020 and 2021. I am guessing you care more about how you play the game than how this result was determined. Same.

I did some research (Google) and found out the following about the game.

How do you play the drinking game Paranoia?

Players take turns whispering questions to each other. The player calls out what they think the answer is and whoever gets called has to drink if they want to find out the answer.

According to Drinking Games, the person being whispered to must answer their question out loud with who they think it is, but that person is not supposed to say the question out loud, just the answer.

For example, if someone whispered to me "Who wastes the most time at work smoking?" I would answer out loud "Chris Monroe".

From there the person whose name was called out, in this case - Chris Monroe, has to decide whether or not they want to know the question they asked or not.

If that person wants to know what the question was, they have to take a shot or a drink. If they don't want to know, they can take the turn by whispering a question into the next person's ear to their right.

The rotation goes by the answer to the question, whoever the answer ends up being.
This keeps going until you are either too paranoid and can't take it anymore or too wasted to play I would imagine.

I think I get it, but I'm not sure if I could get a group of drunk friends on board. What do you think about this game? Have you played before, if not will you be playing now? I think I will just stick to taking a drink when I want - call me old-fashioned I guess.
