Vince Staples Reviews Football Coaches
Football fans can breath a sigh of relief, because the NFL returns tonight (Sept. 8) on NBC with a Super Bowl rematch between the Broncos and Panthers. To get you ready, Vince Staples links up with GQ and reviews some of the league's most well-known coaches.
The Long Beach, Calif. artist briefly comments on coaches including the Cowboys' Jason Garrett, the Chiefs' Andy Reid, the Patriots' Bill Belichick and the Ravens' John Harbaugh. Vince also segues into the college level and shows love for his favorite coach of the bunch, Michigan's Jim Harbaugh.
In other Staples news, the 23-year-old MC just dropped a new EP called Prima Donna. XXL writer Scott Glaysher reviewed the project and typed, "The seven songs on Prima Donna are a refreshing change of pace for Vince Staples. On past projects, his rhymes take center stage and often steal the show but here, the beats supporting his bars are as exceptional as the lyrics."
Glaysher continues, "This project has more samples, less traditional song structure and what feels like a more liberated approach to music making.Plus only two guests appear: Kilo Kish on “Loco” and A$AP Rocky on “Prima Donna.” Vince has always had a foot in the realm of experimental sound but Prima Donna sounds like his cannonball into that sonic space."
Vince also recently teamed up with James Blake for "Timeless (Remix)," a new spin on a cut off Blake's last album.
