Malik Ellison will be taking his talents down I-75, and suiting up for Eastern Michigan next season.

Malik Ellison helped lead Beecher to a third consecutive state championship this year, and will now suit up for Eastern Michigan. Ellison was named the Class C Player of the Year after an amazing senior season at Beecher.

Despite the championships, and individual awards, there weren't many division one schools willing to offer Ellison a scholarship at first.  Eastern Michigan was the first school to offer a scholarship, and their belief was enough to convince Malik to become an Eagle.

Ellison talked to Ryan Slocum from ABC12 about how important it was for him to stay in Michigan.
