Davison Football Coach Jake Weingartz Up For Detroit Lions Coach of the Year
Davison Football Coach, Jake Weingartz is a finalist for the Detroit Lions High School Coach of the Year, and he needs your vote.
Davison is headed to Ford Field to play for a state championship this weekend. Coach Weingartz is obviously busy getting his team ready for the championship game Saturday, but now he has a little more to think about. The Lions have nominated Weingartz as a finalist for the coach of the year award.
The Detroit Lions/Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan High School Football Coach of the Year receives a $4,000 donation to his school’s football program in addition to being nominated for the Don Shula NFL High School Football Coach of the Year, which includes an invitation to Orlando for the NFL Pro Bowl. All winners receive a certificate signed by Lions’ head coach Matt Patricia and National Football League (NFL) commissioner Roger Goodell, a personalized game ball as well as acknowledgement at an in-game ceremony on December 2 as the Detroit Lions take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Oddly enough the other Division I coach that is nominated will be standing across the field from Coach Weingartz on Saturday. The head coach of Brighton, Brian Lemons is also up for the award.
The winner is determined by online voting, so we are definitely encouraging everyone to vote often for Coach Weingartz. You can vote once an hour up until Noon on 11/30. So get online and cast your votes here.
