Genesee County residents who rely on the MTA for bus transportation, will have to start making other plans in June.

Budget problems have forced the Flint MTA to cut back the amount of buses running, and narrow the time that those buses will be on the streets.

The cuts will begin on June 24th, and will include the following changes.

  • Between 10:30am and 2:30pm only one bus will  be on each route (cut from 2)
  • Bus service will stop at 6:30pm
  • Some Saturday service will be cut

The new changes will be in place until October 1st, when full service is expected to return.

Will the new MTA cut backs affect you?  Do you think it should be a priority for the city to keep full service available?
