With multiple grocery stores closing in Flint, the MTA has created a new 'Ride For Groceries' route, to help ease some of the problems for Flint residents.

Meijer on Pierson Rd is closing as well as the Kroger on Davison Rd, and that doesn't leave a lot of options for people without reliable transportation.

The new route will run from the Kroger store at Richfield and Center roads to the Walmart on Court and Belsay roads.  To start with, times will be limited with buses running, from 9am to 2:30pm on weekdays. Weekend routes will also run on Saturday from 10am to 3pm.  The new Ride for Groceries will start running this Friday.

The MTA Website is asking for anyone with suggestions or questions to reach out soon, so that they can make any improvements needed.
