The second annual 'Stop The Silence' 3-on-3 basketball tournament is hitting the streets of Downtown Flint this weekend.

The event is put together with the Flint Police Department, and is absolutely free!

The main goal is to connect police officers and area kids in a positive setting.  This is such a great strategy, because it helps form community relationships at an early age.

Simply telling someone that talking to the police is a good thing has never worked.  Showing the kids that the police are real people, who like to do the same things they like to do is a much better approach.

Last year was a huge success, and this Saturday looks like it will be even bigger.  Keep up with tournament news with their Facebook page.  Registration info can be found there, along with the prizes for the tournament winners, like brand new basketballs.

NBA quality custom basketballs will be awarded to bracket winning teams at this Saturday's Stop the Silence 3 on 3...
