We are excited about the news of Anthony Dirrell returning to the ring to defend his WBC championship belt. In August, 'The Dog' inspired residents in Flint to overcome obstacles and make our dreams become a reality.

Saturday April 25th, Dirrell will fight against Badou Jack who is promoted by Floyd Mayweather Jr. As of right now, a location has not been revealed but MLive reports it could possibly take place in Detroit.

Dirrell suffered two broken fingers in his match against Sakio Bika in August 2014. Now, the champ is ready to beat Jack in April.

"I had two broken fingers and that's what's been holding me back, but I'm back now and nothing's going to stop me," Dirrell said. "I just want to get this fight under my belt and go from there."

The Flint boxer is not intimidated by Badou Jack because he's signed to Mayweather's promotion company.

"I can't wait to take down The Funny Team," Dirrell said. "Mayweather is from (Michigan) and he's a good role model but it is what it is. He's not in the ring, it's his fighter. Of course he's going to go with his fighter to win but it is what it is and they know."

Flint, let's make sure we support Anthony Dirrell on April 25th. Whoever throw a viewing party, hit me up.
