St. Mary's School in Flint is the latest in the long list of schools in Genesee county to be demolished due to lack of funding. The 90-year-old school at one time was one of the main schools for the cities east side, but now in less than two-weeks a demolition crew will destroy the former Catholic school. A spokesperson for the school stated that it costs $34,000 to maintain the empty building. The wrecking crew will arrive on September 8th and begin tearing down the school which is located off of Franklin Avenue.
