Bryan Doherty has Down Syndrome, but that didn't stop this basketball manager from hitting his first shot on Senior night.

Bryan simply said that it was the greatest night of his life.

He has managed the basketball and football teams at Pelham High for the last four years, and on Senior night, he got his chance to play.

In a moment that couldn't have been scripted better, Bryan got the pass an hit his first shot of the game.

Moments like this, at any level of sports, should make us all stop and remember that sometimes it is bigger than the game.  The sport is the vehicle that the life lesson is delivered, and even though Bryan was the hero that night.  I can garuntee that nobody in that gym will ever forget what they saw.

Do you need more examples of how sports can bring out the best in all of us?  Check out the story about Kevin Grow getting his shot below.  Then watch the most inspirational wrestling story I've ever seen . . . just make sure you've got some tissues nearby.
