Meet Chef Nate Brown – Black History Month Spotlight

Chef Nate Brown is considered a Flintstone in every right.  Born in raised in Flint, Michigan, Chef Nate Brown now is family man married with 3 children.  Chef Nate Brown is an alumni of Northwestern High School and has a Culinary degree from the Arts Institute of Michigan in 2010.

Chef Nate has taken his love for basketball to give back to the youth in our area by coaching.  Chef Nate Brown is currently the Head Coach for Southwestern High School Girl's Varsity Basketball team.  Coach Nate Brown started his coaching career at Flint Central High School in 2002 as the JV Boy's Head Coach.  While coaching at Flint Central, Coach Nate Brown also was an Assistant Coach on Mott CC Boys Basketball team winning to National Championships.  In 2009, Coach Nate Brown helped the Flint Flames Semi-Pro Women's Basketball team as the Head Coach.

In the cooking arena, no from Flint, Michigan is better at cooking than Chef Nate Brown.  In 2009,  Chef Nate Brown established his own cooking show, 'Choppin' It Up With Chef Nate Brown' which aired on FOX66 and Community Access.  Being inspired by G. Garvin, nationally known chef, Nate Brown closed his construction company and started 'Intimate Touch Catering.'  Chef Nate Brown has done several live cooking shows in the Flint area.  Currently, Chef Nate Brown is the Head Chef and General Manager at Encore Sports Grill in Flint, MI.  Expect the hometown Chef to open another restaurant in Flint.
