All Michigan Secretary of State offices will be closed during Governor Whitmer's Stay Home, Stay Safe order.

Gov Whitmer said that all non-essential businesses will be closed for the next three weeks, and the SOS offices are deemed non-essential. That means there will be no face to face transactions done through the SOS, but there are many services you can still take care of online.

Even though you can still do quite a bit of your business online, the fees for expired tags or licenses will be suspended while the SOS offices are closed.

If you have questions about what services are still available, you can find most of your answers at the SOS website here.

There are so many changes going on right now, and everyone is feeling a little unsure or uncomfortable with them. This is one of the changes that I think will eventually help our system move easier. I've never understood why there are always such long lines at the SOS office, especially when you can do most of your stuff online. Maybe this closure will help people discover the online services they've been missing out on.
