Michigan Woman Launching Into History During First All Female Spacewalk
Grand Rapids native, Christina Koch, launched into space yesterday and will land in the history books.
Koch is going to be part of the first ever all female spacewalk scheduled to take place on March 29th. Her shuttle launched from Kazakhstan yesterday with two other astronauts heading to the International Space Station. Koch has been training for years leading up to this historic moment.
The spacewalk on March 29th won't just be an all female crew in space, the entire NASA crew directing the mission from earth will be women as well.
Hopefully there will be a day when this is so common place that we won't even think twice about an all female crew doing amazing things. Until then we celebrate Kristina and the rest of the women making history this month.
