There is another major recall this time from General Motors as they are recalling pickups and trucks. According to WILX, GM is recalling over 368,000 pickups as well as other trucks due to nearly 20 reports of fires caused by engine block heater cords. GM has found that fires can occur because the electric heater cord or the terminals connecting the cord to the heater could short-circuit and fail. There have been no injuries reported but GM is asking if you have a truck under the recall that you don't use engine block heaters until further notice.

So the recall is a worldwide recall so there are quite a few models this covers. So the vehicles under recall are: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4500, 5500 and 6500 trucks, 2017 through 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500. These trucks are under the recall because they all share GM's 6.6-Liter diesel engines and an optional engine block heater used in colder climates.
