Recently Elected Flint City Councilor Eric Mays Arrested For Drunk Driving + Drug Possession

Eric Mays is less than a month into his position as Flint City Councilor for the city's first ward.  Saturday he was arrested for drunk driving, along with some other citations including Marijuana possession.

Police received calls about a car traveling north in the southbound 475 lanes just before 3am.

When they arrived they found Mays trying to change flat tires on the car.

Mays was arrested for suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana. Flint Police say he was also cited for No Proof of Insurance and Failure to Submit to Fingerprinting.

His lawyer released a statement that Mays would continue to serve his position in Flint's First Ward.
