A few weeks ago, a state elections board approved a petition to recall Governor Rick Snyder because of his handling of the Detroit schools. The district is dealing with infestations, black mold, no heat and other major problems. This was the first petition to recall Snyder.

A second recall petition had been approved, and this one relates directly to the Flint Water Crisis. An earlier attempt to get a recall petition approved, but the language was not legally sound. Now there are two separate petitions aimed at removing Governor Snyder from office. Now the huge task of getting 790,000 valid signatures in 60 days is under way.

Organizers say that they will launch the campaign in tandem with the March 8th primary. Snyder's reaction to the petitions was simple, telling reporters “That’s part of the democratic process.”
