I guess Eric Mays is not the only Michigan Councilman getting trouble.  Detroit Councilman George Cushingberry Jr. led police on a chase and had weed and open liquor bottles in his car.  He got off without being arrested and issued a ticket.  Whoa!

Cushingberry Jr. and his friend left a strip club with weed and alcohol on Tuesday night before starting a police chase.  He was issued a citation but should have been arrested.  The Detroit News is reporting,

According to sources, the officers gave chase after almost being hit, but the councilman did not stop. Another squad car was called in to help with the chase.

The source said officers finally stopped Cushingberry's car and spotted the open alcohol container and smelled marijuana.

"When they finally stopped him, he took off again," the source said. "Then, he was stopped a second time and (Cushingberry) flashed his City Council ID card. There was another guy in the car who had a medical marijuana card, but it doesn't matter; you're not allowed to smoke in the car. A supervisor came over and put the kibosh on it, and issued a ticket for failure to signal. The officers did exactly what they were supposed to do."

The police are investigating the incident on why he was not arrested which is a truly mind blowing.  George went on Facebook and left the comment of, "go to hell" on the editorial critical of his poor judgement..

I thought Eric Mays incident was bad, this Detroit Councilman may have taken poor judgement in local officials to another level.  Flint and Detroit are trying to turn things around and to have elected officials act in this manner is truly disappointing.  Whatever happened to being role models?
