The 9th annual High School Alumni Hockey Tournament starts today, and will feature Flint City School rivalries that haven't happened in a decade.

The Alumni Tournament is more than just great hockey, it's also a huge fundraiser for the Flint Youth Hockey and the Old News Boys of Flint. One of the highlights of this weekends tournament is the resurrection of the Flint City Rivalry.

Most Flint sports fans remember a time when Flint had four high schools full of some of the best athletes in the state. The rivalries between Central, Northern, Southwestern and Northwestern are legendary.

Those rivalries will be on the ice this weekend in the 40 and over division of the alumni tournament. SWA and Northern play tonight at 9:30pm inside Crystal Field House. SWA and Central play on Saturday at Crystal Field House as well.

There are plenty of other great rivalry games to check out like Lapeer East vs Lapeer West.

Admission to any of the games is free, but all donations are appreciated. You can get more info about the weekend tournament on the Facebook event page here. Check out the post below for the complete schedule.
