After the new CDC guidelines, the Great Lakes Loons have updated their mask mandates.

For those of you looking to hit up a baseball game in the future, the Great Lakes Loons have updated their mask policies. These changes have been made to adjust to the updated guidance from the United States Centers for Disease Control and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

What are the changes to their policies?

The updated rules are as follows:

  • All fans, regardless of vaccination status, are no longer required to wear a mask when seated or moving about an open-air area in the Dow Diamond.
  • Fans that have not been vaccinated for COVID-19 are still required to wear a face mask while in an indoor area of the Dow Diamond including the front office, the Trust Club, the team's store, and restroom facilities.

These rules will remain in effect until July 1st, 2021 per the orders of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

This is a monumental step forward, not just for our organization, but for our fans as we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This new mask protocol, along with the other protocol modifications announced last week, will give our fans the most normal Loons experience since September of 2019,”  “We continue to encourage our unvaccinated fans to get their COVID-19 vaccine so we can continue down the “Michigan Vacc to Normal” plan that will permit sold-out Loons games as our state reaches critical vaccination milestones...said Chris Mundhenk, President and General Manager of the Great Lakes Loons.
