We all can understand why people will have a love-hate relationship with the police.  Last week police in Ohio were doing great things for their community but in Arizona, police are making bad decisions. An Arizona man was arrested on DUI charges because he looked dunk to the arresting officer.

Jessie Thorton, 61 years old of Arizona, was arrested for driving under the influence in Surprise, Arizona after being suspected of having too much to drink. Thorton was leaving the LA Fitness gym from swimming which caused he eyes to look extremely red.

The 61 year old retired Fire Fighter has an unusual sleeping pattern due to his wife ER nursing schedule. When pulled over at 11pm, the officer told Thorton,

“I can tell you're driving drunk by the look in your eyes.”

During the traffic stop, Thorton was asked to perform a sobriety test which he approved. Thorton informed the officer that his knees & hips were bad and he was scheduled to have surgery soon.

Taken to the police station, the elderly man was given a Breathalyzer test and recorded a whopping 0.00.  An expert was called in to examine Thorton and he concluded,

“I would never have arrested you.” The expert wrote a statement, saying, “...in my opinion Jessie was never under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Jessie Thorton's record was restored back to him after the police experienced a level of embarrassment.  However Thorton is suing the police for $500k because he feels that he was targeted for driving while black and harassed for no reason.

Do you think Jessie Thorton will receive his $500k apology or should he be thankful for not getting into any trouble?  Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
