Marysville City Council Candidate Wants To Keep The City As White As Possible
Jaws hit the floor during a Marysville City Council candidate forum when Jean Cramer answered a question about diversity in the community.
When the moderator asked about initiatives to bring in more diversity into the city, nobody was expecting Jean Cramer to drop this racist nonsense.
My suggestion, recommendation, keep Marysville a white community as much as possible.
Go ahead a re-read that again. Maybe just one more time to let it sink in.
In 2019, in a public forum, a woman hoping to be voted into an city council position just said that she wants to keep the community as white as possible.
It gets worse.
The rest of the candidates were visibly shocked as Cramer went on trying to explain what she meant. The rest of the candidates all took turns denouncing Cramer's words, but one candidate got personal with her response. The Free Press reported that Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Hayman responded by telling the history of her Syrian father, her African American son-in-law, and bi-racial grandchildren.
So maybe Cramer just accidentally slipped a little of her inner racist out unintentionally. Maybe with a second chance, she would hide her ignorant racist views a little better . . . or maybe not.
A reporter for the Times Herald asked Cramer if she would like to clarify her earlier response after the meeting, and she did.
How can I put this? What Kathy Hayman doesn’t know is that her family is in the wrong, A husband and wife need to be the same race. Same thing with kids. That’s how it’s been from the beginning of, how can I say, when God created the heaven and the earth. He created Adam and Eve at the same time. But as far as me being against blacks, no I’m not.
I don't even know what to type right here. I've re-read that quote about 10 times hoping that something other than anger will come out. It's not working.
I can't believe that someone can be so incredibly stupid. I know I probably shouldn't call her names, but I don't know what else to say at this point.
I think the scariest part about this is that Cramer is obviously not the only person that thinks this way. I personally believe that the number of people that agree with her is shrinking every day, but it's disheartening to hear someone spew such stupidity.
If you're not already angry enough, take some time to watch this ignorant lady double down on her racist comments the next day.
