Michigan Woman Caught On Tape Trying To Hire A Hitman To Murder Her Husband [Video]

Julia Merfeld is a 21 year old from Muskegon, Michigan who decided that hiring a hit man to murder her husband would be easier than just divorcing him.  Luckily the supposed hit man was a Michigan State Police undercover officer, but it's amazing how calmly she talks about her plan.

Merfeld doesn't seem to hold a lot of hate for her husband, and even smiles when talking about her reason for wanting to kill him.

She tells the undercover officer in the video:

It’s not that we weren’t getting along, but terrible as it sounds, it was easier than divorcing him.”  “You know, I didn’t have to worry about the judgment of my family, I didn’t have to worry about breaking his heart, all that stuff like this. It’s, like, how I got a clean getaway.”

Fortunately for Julia's husband, she's not making a clean getaway.  After she was arrested Merfeld pleaded guilty to solicitation to murder.

In an unexpected twist her husband asked the judge to show leniency and not make her do any prison time!

WHAT?!  The woman you call your wife is on video calmly talking about how she wants you dead  . . . and you want to show leniency?

The judge listened to the husbands request, but Merfeld still faces anywhere between six years to life in prison.
