Tax Filing Deadline For People and Businesses Moved To July
If you were wondering how in the world you would get your taxes done during the Coronavirus outbreak, your questions are answered.
The US Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, made the announcement on Twitter that the tax deadline has been pushed to July. Normally taxes are due for people and businesses on April 15th, but with the extreme circumstances, the choice to move the date to July 15th has been made official.
According to a statement from Mnuchin the three month delay is in place, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't file now.
All taxpayers now have three extra months to pay, without interest or penalties. But those expecting refunds should file as soon as possible
This is being celebrated on Twitter by most people as it gives us one less thing to worry about right now.
