Flint's Claressa Shields overcame a stomach virus for the championship in Mexico. The female boxing icon is still writing her own story for the history books with another win in the boxing ring.

When Flint's Claressa Shields can into the studio she told us she was taking her fighting to another level.  She proved those words to be true as she won the gold medal at the Pan American Olympic Festival in the middleweight division.

Flint has another reason to have pride in the 'Vehicle City' after Claressa Shields brings home another gold medal from Puerto Rico.  The boxing machine won an unanimous bought at Cheo Aponte Tournament over the weekend.

Flint's boxing scene is getting stronger with Adreal Holmes three peat at the State of Michigan's Golden Gloves competition.  Now the punching machine is headed to the national Golden Gloves again.

Flint's Claressa Shields made a cameo in Audi's 'Dues' commercial on her birthday.  The Olympic Gold Medalist brought her gloves to the screen while reciting a lyrics from a very famous song.  Again, we're so proud of Shields.

Flint's Claressa Shields won her first USA Boxing Championship belt over the weekend.  While everyone is focused on the Grammys, Flint made some positive news.

Claressa Shields has become Flint's Golden Girl after becoming the first American woman to win a gold medal in boxing at the 2012 Olympics.  Now she has another prestigious award under her belt as her story has won a Peabody Award.

Flint's Claressa Shields has qualified for the national top amateur award.  After winning the first ever female middleweight boxing gold medal, Shields historic victory is placing her in position for another award.  Not only did Flint's Shields win a gold medal, she became the second youngest person to do so.

Flint's Claressa Shields is recognized by Sports Illustrated's 'The Year of the Women' feature.  History setting female boxer Shields receives due praise for her heroic journey to winning a gold medal in boxing this summer.  Flint has been so proud of her and now Sports Illustrated readers can join us.
