It is still so sad to see things like this still going on in 2013. Mlive.com reports that Hurley medical center in flint Michigan has settled for a sum of $110,000 to end a lawsuit. But not just any lawsuit a couple of months ago a nurse was told she was not allowed to care for a newborn because of her color. Tonya Battle filed the lawsuit claiming that the father of the newborn requested that no African American nurses were to care for his child.  Both sides announced they settled the suit Feb. 22 but that's not all the money Hurley is set to pay out. Hurley also agreed to pay two other employees, Lakisha Bah Stewart and Latoya, $41,250 each to settle the claims of discrimination.
