You don't have to look in some world famous chef's kitchen to find the best food creations around, most of the time you can find them in a drive-thru.

Arby's announced this week that they would be bringing back their surprisingly popular Venison Steak Sandwich. Last year, when this was introduced, it sold out in a matter of hours. This year they are taking things to the next level.

This got me thinking about all of the deliciously ridiculous Frankenstein-ish combinations that the fast food world has given to us. Below is a list of my personal favorites, some old and some new. Some went on to become regular menu items, while some are still living in the bottom of someones gut.

ARBY'S VENISON / ELK SANDWICH

The Venison sandwich is coming, and this is one of the few creations that I have not tried yet. Despite driving to many area Arby's last year, they were all sold out. This year Arby's has assured everyone that there will be more available.

They've also added an Elk sandwich to three markets. Unfortunately none of them are in Michigan, but if you happen to be heading to Wyoming, Montana or Colorado anytime this month, you might be able to try one.

KFC DOUBLE DOWN

This is my personal favorite on the list. The Colonel outdid himself when thinking up this gem. Who needs all that bun, when you have perfectly good chicken breasts to use. Then the combo of cheese, bacon and more chicken make this one of the best sandwiches ever.

I have often said that nobody ever told the story about the time they didn't get the Double Down . . . BUT nobody has probably ever talked about eating two of these things either.

FRIED EGG TACO SHELL

The fried egg taco shell might be one of the most genius things I've ever seen.  I normally steer clear of fast food breakfast items, but this is too good to ignore. The only way it would be better is if the egg shell were served over easy, and you had to shotgun the yolk before it made a mess.

Taco Bell is always looking for new creations. Some are instant classics like the Doritos taco, and some are instant junk, like the chicken nacho chips. One thing will always stay true though, if Taco Bell says it's new, I'll try it.

This is also a good time to relive one of the best fast food ad campaigns of all time.

MCDONALD'S MCRIB

The McRib is probably considered the grandaddy of this list. It is the blueprint for keeping your customers wanting more. I personally couldn't eat one of these things, but there are people that treat the day that the McRib returns like a national holiday.

One thing is for sure, that between the McRib and the Shamrock Shake, McDonald's has their customers reeled in hook line and sinker.

WENDY'S BACON QUESO LINE

Wendy's has taken the new menu item to the next level in my opinion. The Bacon Queso burger and chicken sandwich good, but Wendy's decided to throw it on the fries as well. That's the kind of innovation that we need in the drive through.

KFC FAMOUS BOWL

This commercial is 11 years old . . . think about that for a second. KFC basically took their most popular menu items and put them in a bowl. They've basically taken the fact that everyone loves leftovers, and turned it into one of their most popular menu items.

There are plenty of other items that could and should be on this list, and that's where you come in.

I need you to let me know what other crazy fast food menu items you love, even if you may be the only one. Leave the item in the comments below, and I'll add it to the list.
