Taco Bell Is Saying Adios To A Few Favorites
Taco Bell has announced that they will be getting rid of 11 menu items permanently to simplify their menu.
This one hurts. There are only a few fast food places that you can rely on to come up with new nonsensical menu items, and Taco Bell is the one of them. I can't be to upset though, because Taco Bell is just trying to find their way through the pandemic like the rest of us.

They released a statement about the menu changes coming, confirming that this is a result of impact that the Coronavirus pandemic has had on their business. The 11 items that are cut from the menu will be available until August 13th, and are listed below.
Tacos
- Grilled Steak Soft Taco
Burritos
- 7-Layer Burrito
Specialties
- Nachos Supreme
Cravings Value
- Beefy Fritos Burrito®
- Spicy Tostada
- Triple Layer Nachos
- Spicy Potato Soft Taco
Snacks
- Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
- Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho)
- Chips & Dips
Breakfast
- Mini Skillet Bowl
Best Taco Bell Advertising Ever
Taco Bell is not looking at this move as a bad thing though, according to the statement it is a move toward a simpler but more diverse menu.
While change is hard, a simplified menu and innovation process will leave room for new fan favorites, continued progress in categories such as plant-based diets, and even opportunities for the return of some classics on a limited time basis.
It definitely sounds like Taco Bell is going to lean into the "healthy" options for their customers. They are planning focusing on new plant based options and even a gluten free menu.
I'll be OK with the changes as long as Taco Bell doesn't give up on releasing crazy versions of their menu items. In case you were wondering what crazy menu items I'm talking about, just click on the link below.
