Mayor Sheldon Neeley Asking For Residents Input On $99 Million Dollar Grant
Flint is getting a serious stimulus check from the federal government due to the pandemic and the mayor is asking for your input on how the money should be spent.
$99 million dollars is a crazy amount of money! That's enough to potentially revive our schools, local businesses, and dilapidated buildings that plague the city of Flint. But the Mayor wants your opinion on what we should spend that money on first.
“We will continue to make sure that resident voices are heard. We value community input as the foundation of what we do every day,” Mayor Neeley said.
The update will include detailed information on how residents can submit their ideas to be considered as part of the planning process for the American Rescue Plan funding.
I hate that it took a pandemic for our city to secure this type of money but, oh well, I won't complain. I'm just happy we have someone that will be completely transparent with the huge amount of federal aid that's coming to Flint. Unlike the previous administration that saw nearly quadruple the amount of federal aid for the water crisis with little to no results for the city.
