Polls Open In Flint Today To Fill Open State House of Representative Seat
Voters in Flint will be picking two of the 11 candidates hoping to fill the empty State House of Representatives seat vacated by Sheldon Neeley.
Precincts in the 34th District will be voting for their two candidates today, but one of them is all but set. Out of the 11 candidates, 10 of them are Democrats. That means that Adam Ford, the lone Republican, will face off against the Democrat who gets the most votes in a general election.
While most of the city is covered in the 34th District, there are some precincts that are not voting today according to Mlive.
The state seat includes a majority of the city, however, it does not include precincts 24, 32, 33, 34, 38, 43, 45, 46, 51, 54, 55 and 56. Those precincts are part of the 49th State Legislative District.
The 11 Democratic candidates are Michael Clack, Sean Croudy, Monica Galloway, Santino Guerra, Vincent Lang, Charis Lee, Candice Mushatt, Sherwood Pea Jr., Cynthia Neeley and Claudia Perkins-Milton.
