Three Area Football Teams Advance To Semifinals
Only three area teams are advancing into the semifinals after a tough weekend of playoff football in Mid-Michigan.
The last two teams from Flint were eliminated over the weekend.
Hamady had their undefeated dream season come to a close Saturday afternoon against Montrose. Beecher was also eliminated as they were shut out by a very good Harbor Beach team. Hamady and Beecher should both hold their heads high after great seasons, and deep playoff runs.
The playoffs don't stop to let any team lick their wounds though as the semifinals are happening this weekend. Check out the three remaining teams that will try to punch their ticket to Ford Field below.
Midland (9-3) VS Muskegon Mona Shores (11-1) @ Grand Ledge Saturday 1 pm.
Whatever the line is on this game, take the over! Midland put up 43 points last week and Muskegon scored 58. Both teams have powerful offenses that can score at will. Depending on the weather on Saturday, this could be one of the most entertaining games of the playoffs.
Hudsonville Unity Christian (10-2) VS Swan Valley (12-0) @ Greenville Saturday 1 pm.
Swan Valley is one of the few undefeated teams still alive in the playoffs, and they have no intention of ending their perfect run yet.
Montrose (10-2) VS Jackson Lumen Christi (11-0) @ Novi Saturday 1pm
Montrose is no stranger to deep playoff runs, and now we know that an undefeated team won't intimidate the Rams. Montrose has a history of rising to the occasion in big games, and they know exactly what it takes to get to Ford Field.
We hope to see all three of our area teams make it to Ford Field and bring back a championship.
